Technical Features
The ferrochrome tapping robot system is mainly composed of an intelligent control system, hydraulic transmission system, mechanical transmission system, video monitoring system and tool storage system.Operators can complete operations such as one-tap furnace hole tapping and one-tap tap-hole plugging via the human-machine interactive touch screen in the central control room.This tapping machine system frees front-of-furnace operators from harsh working conditions with ultra-high temperature, heavy labor intensity and severe safety risks. It fully meets the production requirements of ferrochrome front-of-furnace operations and significantly boosts work efficiency.
Application
Ferroalloys are indispensable raw materials for the iron and steel industry as well as machinery casting sector. They serve two primary purposes:
First, as deoxidizers to remove excess oxygen from molten steel; common deoxidizers include ferrosilicon, ferromanganese, ferroaluminum, silicon calcium alloy and silicomanganese.
Second, as alloying agents to adjust steel composition and modify the mechanical properties of steel products.
There is a wide variety of ferroalloys, mainly categorized into silicon series, manganese series, chromium series, nickel series, etc. Among them, silicon and manganese series are the most prevalent and account for the largest proportion.

Tapping operators manipulate the control terminal in the remote control room to command the robot to execute the full sequential tapping procedures for one metallurgical furnace.Through the control terminal, operators can enable the robot to carry out fully automatic one-tap furnace hole tapping, fully automatic one-tap rodding, fully automatic one-tap tap-hole plugging and fully automatic one-tap rod handling.
