Liu Lihua pointed out that a new round of technological and industrial revolution featuring the deep integration of information technology and manufacturing is booming, bringing profound changes to manufacturing production methods. To keep pace with manufacturing development trends, major developed economies around the world have rolled out a host of major initiatives, aiming to foster new growth drivers and competitive edges through the manufacturing revolution centered on intelligent manufacturing. Intelligent manufacturing serves as the primary development direction defined in Made in China 2025 and holds the key to the transformation and upgrading of China’s manufacturing sector. Thanks to joint efforts from all sides, a sound atmosphere for coordinated advancement of intelligent manufacturing has taken shape across all sectors and the whole society. The standards system for intelligent manufacturing has been further refined, remarkable results have been achieved in the popularization and application of new models, supporting capabilities for intelligent manufacturing have been bolstered, and international exchanges and cooperation have kept expanding.

Liu Lihua stressed that compared with industrialized developed countries, China faces more complex circumstances, tougher challenges and more arduous tasks in advancing the intelligent transformation of manufacturing, due to varying foundational conditions and development environments across different regions, industries and enterprises. We must thoroughly implement the guiding principles from the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and press ahead with the Intelligent Manufacturing Project in accordance with the overall arrangements of Made in China 2025. Efforts will be pooled to make breakthroughs in key technical equipment, consolidate the foundation for development, improve the industrial ecosystem, upgrade models covering research and development, production, management and services, raise the quality and efficiency of manufacturing, and accelerate the cultivation of new competitive strengths for Chinese manufacturing.

During the conference, Liu Lihua visited and inspected the product exhibition center, digital assembly workshop for relay protection equipment and intelligent testing workshop of NARI-Relays Electric Co., Ltd.

The conference consisted of three major segments: Global Intelligent Leadership Summit, Global Intelligent Leadership Carnival and Global Intelligent Leadership Expo, covering the main forum, high-level summits, 14 special forums, an exhibition and 9 special events. Preliminary statistics show that the event attracted over 10,000 participants, including 21 academicians and more than 300 experts and scholars from world-renowned research institutions in the United States, Germany, Sweden and other countries. Over 30 Fortune Global 500 enterprises took part, and more than 300 leading intelligent manufacturing enterprises from over ten countries and regions worldwide showcased their products at the exhibition.

Relevant officials from the General Office, Department of Equipment Manufacturing Industry and Department of Electronic Information of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology attended related activities.
