On October 12, 2018, the Chinese and English versions of the Guidelines for the Construction of the National Intelligent Manufacturing Standards System (2018 Edition) (hereinafter referred to as the Guidelines), jointly developed by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and the Standardization Administration of China (SAC), were officially released at the 2018 World Intelligent Manufacturing Conference. Sha Nansheng, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Science and Technology of MIIT, Guo Huanxin, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Standards Technology Administration of the State Administration for Market Regulation, Zhao Bo, Leader of the National General Group for Intelligent Manufacturing Standardization, and You Zheng, Leader of the National Expert Advisory Group for Intelligent Manufacturing Standardization, jointly launched the release ceremony.

Revised on the basis of the Guidelines for the Construction of the National Intelligent Manufacturing Standards System (2015 Edition) jointly issued by MIIT and SAC, the updated Guidelines further elaborate on the constituent elements of the standards system and their interrelationships. It highlights the application of emerging technologies in intelligent manufacturing, and places stronger emphasis on standards testing and verification, industrial application and implementation. The Guidelines will guide, regulate, lead and safeguard the sound and orderly development of the intelligent manufacturing industry, and carry great significance for advancing the internationalization of China’s intelligent manufacturing standards.
