Celebrating the Successful Launch of Our Calcium Carbide Furnace Tapping Robot System at Shaanxi Jintai Magnesium Industry
On the afternoon of December 1, 2017, the signing ceremony between Beijing Lapsen Technology and Shenmu Jintai Magnesium Industry Chemical Co., Ltd. was grandly held in the conference hall of Shaanxi Hengyuan International Hotel.Li Guizhong, Chairman of Shenmu Jintai Magnesium Industry Chemical Co., Ltd., Zhe Yongfeng, Director of Shenmu Electrochemical Plant, Wang Zengjie, General Manager of Hengyuan Electrochemical Company, and Yang Zhongyi, Deputy General Manager of Lapsen Technology, attended the ceremony. The event was presided over by Zhang Peiwu, Honorary Consultant of Lapsen Technology.
First, Yang Zhongyi, Deputy General Manager of Beijing Lapsen Technology, delivered a speech. He reviewed the current situation of the calcium carbide industry and the application background of tapping robots, shared the company’s successful project experience, and expressed sincere expectations for the bilateral cooperation. Afterwards, Li Guizhong, Chairman of Shenmu Jintai Magnesium Industry, gave a speech. As the first enterprise in Shaanxi Province to adopt calcium carbide furnace tapping robots, Chairman Li placed high expectations on our tapping robot system and expressed confidence in long-term and effective cooperation with Beijing Lapsen, hoping that both sides would forge ahead hand in hand to create a brighter future. Finally, witnessed by all guests, Mr. Yang and Chairman Li officially signed the cooperation agreement on the calcium carbide tapping robot project on behalf of the two parties.

The application of the tapping robot system frees front-line workers from high-risk, high-intensity and high-temperature manual operations. Operators can remotely control the robot through the central control human-machine interaction platform to complete automatic power connection, furnace hole burning, furnace hole tapping, rodding, tap-hole plugging and furnace lip cleaning. The system basically realizes unmanned operation at the taphole working area, saving annual costs of more than 2.3 million yuan, while ensuring safe production and achieving staff reduction and efficiency improvement. The traditional manual tapping process for calcium carbide furnaces is about to become history, opening a new historic chapter for the industry.
This successful cooperation with Jintai Magnesium Industry marks an important strategic step for Lapsen to expand into the northwest China market, following the successful promotion and application of its tapping robot systems in northern and north China’s calcium carbide industry.
