Leading Officials from MIIT Inspect Our Calcium Carbide Furnace Tapping Robot at Inner Mongolia Dongyuan Technology
On the afternoon of November 17, 2016, a four-member inspection team led by Mei Zubao, Director of the Industrial Policy Department of MIIT, and Jiang Shunping, Deputy Secretary-General of China Calcium Carbide Association, visited the calcium carbide furnace tapping robot developed and manufactured by our company at Inner Mongolia Dongyuan Technology. They were accompanied by Zhang Huming, General Manager of Dongyuan Technology, and Yang Zhongyi, Deputy General Manager of our company.
This tapping robot system, independently researched, developed and manufactured by our company, is the first of its kind in China and boasts world-leading technological standards. The system mainly consists of a hydraulic transmission system, mechanical transmission system, intelligent control system, video monitoring system, remote operation system, tool rack and supporting special tools.On-site operators can remotely control the robot through the human-machine interaction platform in the central control room to complete automatic rodding, automatic power connection, automatic burning, automatic furnace hole tapping, automatic tap-hole plugging and furnace lip cleaning. According to Zhang Huming, General Manager of Dongyuan Technology, the adoption of this robot system has reduced the staffing of a single calcium carbide furnace tapping post from the original 7–8 workers to 2–3 workers.
The inspection leaders on site spoke highly of the tapping robot system. They unanimously affirmed that the system liberates front-line operators from high-temperature, high-labor-intensity and high-risk manual tapping operations. It fully meets the production requirements of calcium carbide furnace front operations, significantly improves operational efficiency, and realizes safe production, staff reduction and efficiency improvement.
