In his speech, Mr. Zhong Haisheng, Chairman of Lapsen Technology, stated that as a high-tech enterprise specializing in the R&D, production and sales of intelligent factory solutions and special robots for high-risk operations, Lapsen Technology has adhered to the mission of "building digitally transparent factories, replacing manual labor with robots, and empowering intelligent manufacturing" since its founding. The company focuses on developing industrial robots for heavy industries, which are mainly applied to hazardous working scenarios involving heavy labor, high altitude, high temperature, heavy dust and toxic substances across sectors including calcium carbide chemical industry, iron and steel metallurgy, ferroalloy smelting, industrial silicon smelting, chemical raw materials, building materials, alumina and PVC.
With the launch of this National Key R&D Program project under the "Intelligent Robots" special initiative, Lapsen Intelligent will earnestly fulfill its responsibilities and mission as the lead organization. It will strengthen communication and collaboration with industrial experts and project team members to tackle generic technical bottlenecks in the industry and deliver more advanced technological achievements. The project aims to boost the production efficiency of submerged arc furnace smelting, reduce labor intensity for workers, safeguard their health and life safety, and generate sound economic and social benefits. The company will ensure the research project delivers tangible outcomes, inject new quality productive forces into the transformation and upgrading of high-risk industries such as submerged arc furnace production, facilitate the high-end, intelligent and green development of traditional manufacturing, and jointly realize the vision of "a world free from dangerous jobs".
Brief Introduction to the Project of Research, Development and Application of Robotic Technology for Smelting Furnace Operations under High Temperature and Severe Impact Loads
At present, manual operation still dominates the front-of-furnace work of submerged arc furnaces in China, with a low level of mechanization, automation and intelligence. The existing developed front-of-furnace robots have prominent defects under harsh working conditions, including insufficient impact resistance, severe equipment vibration, poor reliability, short service life of key transmission components, low positioning accuracy and insufficient motion flexibility. The front-of-furnace operation of submerged arc furnace smelting features ultra-high temperature, massive dust and loud noise. It ranks as the working procedure with the highest labor intensity and safety risks in the whole smelting production process.

This project responds to the national strategic requirements for intelligent manufacturing and serves the metallurgical production sector. Targeting the technical demands for impact-resistant robots in high-temperature smelting scenarios such as industrial silicon, calcium carbide, ferrosilicon and silicomanganese, the project will reveal the mechanical behaviors and failure mechanisms of robot transmission mechanisms under severe impact loads. It will make breakthroughs in core technologies including impact unloading for heavy-load multi-task robots, high-power drive motors with instantaneous high torque, vibration suppression, high-precision positioning and servo control. A design methodology for robots operating under severe impact loads will be established. Five sets of robot systems for high-temperature and heavy-impact operations featuring superior impact resistance, precise control, enhanced reliability and extended service life will be developed, followed by application verification in typical smelting scenarios to guarantee that the robots can fully meet production requirements when deployed in harsh environments.
