[Minister of Emergency Management: Mechanization Can Cut Manpower in High-risk Industries; Automation and Intelligent Technologies Replace Manual Labor] On the afternoon of March 7, the second plenary meeting of the 1st Session of the 14th National People's Congress was held, and the second Ministers' Passage opened after the meeting. Wang Xiangxi, Minister of Emergency Management, pointed out that we should vigorously boost safety development through science and technology and promote the application of advanced technologies and equipment, reduce on-site staff by means of mechanization and replace manual work with automation and intelligent technologies in some high-risk industries; meanwhile, it is essential to strengthen employee training within enterprises to improve their comprehensive quality, launch extensive safety science popularization and education activities, and elevate the whole society’s public safety awareness and risk prevention capacity.
