On August 24, 2022, the 7th “Maker China” SME Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (Xuzhou) – New Energy Industry Track successfully concluded. The event was jointly organized by the Cybersecurity Industry Development Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT Information Center), the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, and GCL Group.

Over 30 organizations advanced to the finals of the photovoltaic and new energy track of the 7th "Maker China" Competition. Our entry, the Industrial Silicon Tapping Robot, stood out amid fierce competition and was awarded the Second Prize in the Enterprise Group category.

This photovoltaic and new energy track of the 7th “Maker China” Competition marks the first national-level industrial chain collaborative innovation contest launched by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Centering on “innovation, entrepreneurship and industrial clustering” and themed “Empowering Dual Carbon Goals, Leading the Future with Intelligence”, the competition aims to leverage innovation and entrepreneurship to enhance the competitiveness and stability of industrial and supply chains, and boost the clustered development of the photovoltaic and new energy industry. Focusing on core and cutting-edge technologies in photovoltaic, hydrogen energy and other fields, the competition sets competition themes covering industrial silicon, polysilicon ingot casting and other key sectors.

This awarded project, the industrial silicon tapping robot, is a newly developed special hazardous-operation robot independently developed by our company for the tapping process of industrial silicon smelting. It has been practically applied and well received by multiple industrial silicon manufacturers. The project was initiated to solve the long-standing industry pain point: domestic industrial silicon tapping operations still rely entirely on manual work. On-site workers are required to stay at the furnace front throughout the operation with insufficient safety protection. Any sudden failure or accident during tapping will pose serious threats to operators’ personal safety.

The deployment of the industrial silicon tapping robot system frees operators from high-temperature, high-labor-intensity and high-risk furnace-front working scenarios. It effectively reduces labor intensity and manpower costs, improves the efficiency and accuracy of smelting operations, keeps workers away from occupational hazards such as extreme heat and dust, and lowers the risk of abnormal incidents during production.

Our industrial silicon tapping robot is remotely controlled via the central control room to automatically switch various tools for different working procedures, greatly boosting tapping efficiency, realizing unmanned furnace-front operation and ultimately replacing manual labor. The adoption of the industrial silicon tapping robot satisfies factories’ demands for safe production, environmental protection and intelligent manufacturing, moving enterprises closer to building smart factories. The installation of the tapping robot system also meets the requirements of informatized and intelligent production.

Lapsen Technology upholds the mission of “Eliminating hazardous jobs worldwide”. Winning the Second Prize in the Enterprise Group at the 7th “Maker China” Photovoltaic and New Energy Track fully recognizes the technological value and innovative strength of our industrial silicon tapping robot project. Moving forward, we will forge ahead with persistent innovation, develop safer, more user-friendly and smarter hazardous-operation robots to serve industrial enterprises, and contribute to the clustered and high-quality development of the photovoltaic and new energy industry.
