With the theme of "Gather Industrial Highlights, Empower Safety and Emergency Response", the expo featured one opening plenary session, one equipment exhibition, two special seminars, six sub-forums and multiple live demonstration drills: the opening plenary session invited leading officials from Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Emergency Management to deliver speeches, while academicians from the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Chinese Academy of Sciences, industrial experts and representatives of well-known enterprises gave keynote addresses; the exhibition showcased brand-new safety and emergency technical equipment making their debuts; the two special seminars were the 2019 Special Robot (Safety & Emergency) Seminar and the 2019 Personal Protective Equipment for Emergency Rescuers Seminar; the six sub-forums focused respectively on fire emergency response, mine safety, hazardous chemical safety, safety and emergency technical equipment, smart safe cities, and finance-supported safety and emergency technologies. Attended by around 1,000 conference delegates and more than 10,000 visitors, the expo covered an exhibition area of roughly 40,000 square meters, where over 200 enterprises including CASIC, NORINCO, Huawei Technologies, XCMG Group, Bada Heavy Industry and Beijing Lapsen gathered to display a wide range of new products and technologies unveiled to the public for the first time.

At Booth C110 of Beijing Lapsen, tapping robots simulated on-site tapping operations of calcium carbide furnaces; operators remotely controlled the robots via a human-machine interaction platform to complete a full series of procedures including automatic rod loading, direct busbar connection, remote controlled burning, automatic furnace hole tapping, automatic tap-hole plugging and furnace lip cleaning. After the robot system was put into use, the number of staff required for the tapping post of a single calcium carbide furnace was reduced from the original 7 to 8 workers to only 3 to 4. Visiting delegates at the expo spoke highly of the tapping robot system, and they all agreed that the system frees frontline tapping operators from manual work plagued by high safety risks, ultra-high ambient temperature, abundant harmful dust and heavy labor intensity, expands the scope of industrial safety, and achieves both safe production and manpower reduction with improved efficiency.

Meanwhile, more than 50 industrial experts, representatives from international organizations and enterprises were invited to deliver special speeches at the expo, showcasing a concentrated display of new industrial achievements and viewpoints. Concurrent events held alongside the main expo included the 2019 Joint Meeting on Provincial-Ministerial Co-construction for the Development of the Safety Industry, the Executive Council Meeting of China Safety Industry Association, and live demonstrations of new fire-fighting equipment.             

As an unprecedented grand event in the safety and emergency response industry, the 2019 China Safety and Emergency Response Equipment Expo concluded successfully at Xuzhou Olympic Sports Center with strong support from government authorities and active cooperation of all exhibitors.
